ok i seriously need help. A little history.. I had pretty thick naturally curly hair. I wanted longer hair so I let a friend do GL in my hair. To make a long story short, I being an accountant, not a beautician at all. I went a year with her sometimes taking the strands out, sometimes leaving them in. Ok so i have been blamed for the mainetance issues but this was a friend since high school. I am talking 10 years. I had no idea what I was getting into. I trusted her when she said"oh its ok to leave them in, etc". I went to her about every 3-4 weeks. I figured she would take care of me. Anyway, I took my GL out in Oct 2006, my hair was seriously trashed, paid $2000 for my 3 tracks of Italian hand sewn wefts of hair and I hate it. I feel for that amnt of money I should not hate it. Granted, i have heard it should last a year or more but i hate it. It looks flat, I cant curl it, and I cannot wear it naturally curly at all. It looks horrible. What options do I have? I have tried to buy clip ins to make it look fuller but I am having problems finding a color match. I bought the Jessica Simpson piece in R27HH but it did not fit my head. The strawberry blonde matched and some of the Sally's clip ins match. I dont know what to do? Should I integrate clip ins with my sew in? Its a little difficult as I have 3 traks in and not a lot of my own hair is out. I cannot really do it myself because I dont have the patience or the talent to do this. I posted asking for recommendations in my area and have had no response. Please, I am begging for help... Sorry for the length of this....

Have you ever tried cold fusion using no heat and no glue? It is the healthiest way to get hair extensions. I didn't catch what part of the country you were in, but if you are in the Midwest region, visit www.experthairinfusions.com and if you are in the Southeast region, visit www.glamoroushairinfusions.com. The companies are affiliated and they both specialize in healthy strand by strand hair extensions/ infusions.
Hope this helps

Harley, sorry to hear about what your "friend" did to your hair. A lot of people don't seem to know what they're doing when it comes to extensions! I think incorporating the clip-ins into your own hair is a great idea. Why not buy 4 oz of hair (or 8 oz)- --- two different colours that you think are close to your own? Then you can play with it and fit it into your own hair. Just buy clips and sew them on. You could also play with colour and try darker on the bottom. Just a thought!
Love clip-ins and tape!

I am not sure how to sew them on. I am trying to find someone to make them for me. I would like them to be better quality and thicker than the Sally's hair. The Jessica simpson R27HH matched perfectly. I believe the color is strawberry blonde. Where is a good place to buy from on the internet?
Sherrie, I am in Denver...

Ummmm...trying to think about where to get good thick clip-in extensions and hair. If you want good hair, there are several great vendors including Sherrie's site hairextensions101.com (Bohyme) as well as Yourhairshop.com (Tease) --- think she's got clip-ins too. There are some good Ebay vendors too (BeautyExpress and SundanceImports) that sell nice hair for good price. Strawberry Blonde shouldn't be too difficult to match.

Girl please.. these are totally easy to make.. Now this is a confirmed salon princess, non crafty, person telling you this.. I just made a whole daggone wig two weeks ago.. and it was EASY!!!!
If you can sew on a button, then you can make your own clip-ins.. All you need is hair and the clips. Lots of places sell 'em.. You can start with His & Her. Click here to see His & Her hair clips
If you don't know how to sew on a button there's a TON of how-to's on the web to show you how: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-sew-on-a-button http://www.ehow.com/how_4604_sew-button.html http://www.wikihow.com/Sew-a-Button http://video.about.com/housekeeping/Sew-Button.htm
Seriously girl.. If you can sew on a button, you really can do this..

Hi Harley. Add more wefts. You need more for a fuller look. Unless you have naturally thick hair 3 wefts are not going to cut it. Try Sherrie's Bohyme or www.mymaneattractions.com Eurotexture wefts, she custom colors. You may want to get samples but I'm sure the texture will match your current wefts.
Home made clip-ins are the best way I believe. Sally's sell them but I prefer Sherrie's. Hers have a better shape and are more secure in my opinion. Make sure have some small gauge sewing needles and matching thread and it'll be a breeze to make your own.
