QuoteReplyTopic: Nape Issues Posted: April 01 2008 at 8:20am
Morning Ladies,
My new Holly just arrived. I am having a lot of problems getting my nape to stick for 1 day. I have tried....super tape, super tape with no tape, oil & water resistant white glue, oil & water resistant white glue with super tape, inivisi bond, invisi bond with super tape... I am willing to try anything. I can get the front to hold for 3 weeks without touch ups...but my nape will not hold for one day. I have shaved the back of my neck hoping that would help, but it didn't. I want to be able to wear a pony tale. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have read so many threads until I fell asleep at my puter.
I use ST and NT or ST and Davlyn in my nape and it holds like crazy.
The only thing I might suggest is to soak the edge of a face towel in alcohol and use it wipe off the lace in the nape area. Sometimes I found that if my lace has some invisible residue from whatever conditioner I used on the unit then my adhesives wont hold as well as they normally do. Try wiping the lace off with alcohol in the nape before you apply the unit and see if that works.

I Had the same issue with both of my units, but mines was the hairline. I Had a very hard time with my first app. I'm not sure if it was the swiss lace or what. After I removed the unit and cleaned it I had better luck. I think I'll go back to my french lace I miss it.

Funny you said that because I have French in the back and it is holding real good. I have Swiss in the front and the hold is ok, but I have a differnt adhesive that I used...

when you are done applying your nape, make sure to use a scarf at nite to wrap your head and sleep,it will put pressure on the adhesive and the lace so that you get a stronger hold, thats what i do and i find it very helpful,
I get the tape to only stick to my nape. The lace never sticks. I tried all the diffenet tricks that I have read about and none of them work. Maybe it is not long enough....I have not cut the lace of my new baby.

Since the lace is not sticking, I would suggest applying the liquid adhesive of your choice (I use vapon No tape and super tape or blue liner tape) onto one side of the tape allow to dry for a few minutes until tacky and then apply that directly to the lace. Press firmly and allow to dry for a few minutes. This should help prevent the separation of the lace and the tape. Next remove the remaining tape backing and apply adhesive to the other side of the tape. Apply adhesive to your skin as normal and then apply your wig press firmly and youshould have an amazing hold.
