QuoteReplyTopic: contact dermatitis- What can I use to condition my hair?? Posted: September 24 2002 at 9:18pm
Hi,
I am getting tested soon for contact dermatitis. I am allergic to just about every shampoo, conditioner, and styling product out there. I have even tried the shampoos and conditioners that are specially made for people with contact dermatitis and sensitive skin and I even have irritation with those products. I don`t know if it is the products I am using or if there may be something in the tap water that is irritating to me. There is only one shampoo that I have found that I can use that doesn`t cause very much irritation on my skin. The shampoo is Back to Basics hydrating shampoo with green tea, shea butter, and enchincea. The problem is I can`t find a conditioner that won`t cause me to break out in an itchy rash all over my scalp and arms. I have tried everything. Does anyone have this same problem or know of anything that I can use to condition my hair and scalp. Would any type of oil maybe work to moisturize my scalp and hair and keep it from falling out so much? I asked a dermatologist online about my condition and why I am losing so much hair and they said that if my scalp is red and irritated that that may be causing my hair to fall out. If anyone could give me any suggestions on what to try please respond. I am running out of options. I get tested for allergies (contact dermatitis) next week but I need something in the mean time to condition my hair and scalp. Thanks. Any help would be very much appreciated.
