I have used EasyTAb  & didnt have an issue with spots. I actually liked it--didnt care for the smell or how I had to wait for it to dry.

I found that using hairspray & liquid bandaid combined  fill in the grids just as good as the EasyTAB.

MassGal:
Do you fill in your grids in the front ?  I don't mind filling in the grids in the nape but I've never coated it heavy enough in the front to fill in the grids. Does is make the lace more visible ??

I spray the entire underside of the unit--focusing mostly on the front bc I part my hair on each side & in the middle.

I sent  you a PM with my fotki link & passwords so you can see the parts...Im not the best at taking pics but some are pretty close so you can get an idea.

Thanks for the fotki link. That app and especially your part are flawless.

Okay what do you mean when you say you spray the underside? Are we talking about the same product because the Tape Tab Compound that I'm talking about comes in a bottle (just a little bigger than finger nail polish) and you apply it with a small brush. Once you apply it you never need to reapply it again. I got mine from MHRW.

Hi--thanks...

I meant this:

I have used the brush on easytab  & I did like it BUT but hated waiting for it to dry & to come in the mail so I sort of made my own with  freeze hair spray & liquid bandaid.

Instead of brushing the underside of the unit with easytab..I spray the unit with freeze hair spray & liquid bandaid. The  combo together fills in the grids.

i used to apply blue liner tape along the areas that I parted but prefer the hairspray/liquid bandaid combo.

Yes it washes out ---- be very careful  --- because I use the Got2B freeze spray & if I am impatient I can ruin a unit--

I really try to keep the part areas in tact tho---I dont soak my unit when I wash them unless I am coloring or trying to highlight or remove any product I may have put in them. I really love it. The people at my local Walgreens must think I am a freak bc I stock up on liquid bandaid.

Edited to add this part:

Because this method isnt permanent sometimes  I need to touch it up
so I spray the liquid bandaid directly on the part --on the top of the unit--it is hard keeping the hand steady  so  if  I mess up I use a root touch up pen at the part area.   To date, this has not negatively effected any of my units.

MassGal | Curlygirl11... that was a great exchange of information. Thanks bunches. I've order the EasyTab and I'm also going to try MassGal's "creative" alternate solution. I too am impatient and pay lots in next day or overnight shipping. Since the vendor for EasyTab doesn't offer it, I'm going to try my hand at the liquid band-aid tip.

Thanks again, I'll post picts of either a monsterous disaster or ubber success! Wink

Oh, Wow! You're sure that's a LF. That looks like "you", straight from the scalp! OMG your hairline looks great! Shocked

Do you wear a wig cap? Your scalp is flawless looking. Tell the truth, that's home grown. That's not a LF. (come on, just between us girls)...

HA!!!

Thanks!

I wear a nude wig cap.

I spray light coats of each  bc I dont want my unit hard to the touch. Once you do it for a while, you'll know how much to use.

I usually try to use the liquid bandaid first but I dont think it matters.

If you end up spraying too much &  the unit gets hard just spritz with water & leave in conditioner mix.
