my dear griff i have no idea if davlyn is or isn't so i would love some feedback. Since i have nothing else to use i'm going to use the davlyn with some covatec alcohol prep and skin barrier all used by docs when using adhesives on patients. Then i'll use my skin prep. Don't know if it will make a difference but i'll try. As for UH unless someone want this brand new bottle for free i'm going to toss that monster out!violentyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! lol

The exposure from tolulene comes from inhaling the fumes. Not from having it on your skin. It's important to use in a well ventilated room. Tolulene is used in a lot of products we use regularly such a fingernail polish, paint, leather, rubber. It evaporates quickly and doesn't build up in our systems
Hope this helps and makes you feel better

OH OH OH! If you don't want your UH I'll gladly take it off your hands for ya! UH is the only adhesive that will actually hold for my big head. I'm afriand to try EB, don't wanna rip my skin off. But I've been using UH for about half a year now and I've experience no side effects so far. There are a few ladies on BHM who don't have side effects either. I think it's different for everyone...But like I said, if Hair direct wont refund you  pitch it my way please!!!!

I understand your concern. I notice a lot of people on the hair loss forums still use UH though. I think there is some logic in using it in a well ventilated area. I don't think these hair replacement centres would sell it if it were 'lethal.'

Try putting tape on your skin first or a skin barrier.

Israel,

Give the Dalyvn a try.  I haven't been at this too long, so I stick to the simple stuff....even if it means more frequent touch ups. This week, I used blue liner tape up to my temples and then invisibond at the top of my forehead.  I ran out of vapon in a tube.  You might really like vapon bc it's easy to apply.  I prefer tapes and only use liquid in the spots where the tape is super visible.  With the dalvyn, put a thin coat and let it dry.  If all else fails, sell it and try another adhesive.  I hate to say it, but you're going to have to go through MANY combos b4 you find your match.  I used to use blue liner and spirit gum around the edges until I spilled it.  You might like that too. You can pick it up for 2 bucks at the party store...

Many have said it before and I'll say it again. UH is the devil. Waaaayyyyy too many women have had negative side effects from it for me to even try it. Sexi got blood clots, some women have had their periods stop, some start having recurring migranes that don't stop until they stop using the UH, etc., etc.....

We are all grown though so you should ofcoarse make your own decision BUT just make sure it's an informed decision and by all means don't assume it wouldn't be sold if it wasn't safe. Do your own independant research. Start by doing a google search on the safety of toluene and you'll find lots of research indicating it builds up in the nervous system over time and is considered by some to be a carcinogen (cancer causing agent). Some women are aware of the research but feel that if they aren't seeing any negative side effects right now then it's okay for them to use and that sits well with them which is fine but I think you should do your own independent research and then make a decision about what you think is best for you and how much risk you are willing to take with your health.

Hello ladies this is my second time responding on here. You ALL are awsome LACE FRONT QUEENS! I thought I was doing something until I took some time and read through the threads. But getting to the UH point. Everytime I use it(on a client) I get blurred vision for a long time .I also read on Toplace forum that a lot of the guys were having headaches when they use it and it stopped when they don't use it. I work in a well ventilated area but that don't help.

Ok thank you thank you i'm so grateful for you help with thisHug. Ok so UH out! I already have migraines as diagnosed in 2005 so i definitely can't chance it because anyone who knows about migraines knows that it don't play. Furthermore nothing is worth it even if i didn't have it. At least that's my take.

I have just purchased UH and davlyn, did not realise that they were a health risk.

If I layer my adhesive with Spirit gum first and then a layer of UH do you think that will make a difference?

I just purchased davelyn and uh tooConfused, as a matter of fact I just purchased from Hair Direct about an hour ago.  I wonder if I can get my money back?  I decided long ago not too use UH, but every one was raving about the hold and I decided to buy a small bottle (9.95) for the nape only to be used over tape.  Now I regret itAngry
