Sandra, I used to work with a lady who wore a flattop; I thought she looked great. She would get it cut at a salon and pay $30.00. I started taking her to my barber aboard the Marine Corps Base where she got a much better haircut for $5.00; she still goes to the barbershop.
Here are some suggestions for super short.
These cuts look much better when done at a barbershop vice just slapping a number 2 or 3 guard on a set of clippers and running them all over your head although that is a lot of fun to do. I think you'd truly enjoy a barbershop experience. It's the tapering that makes these cuts sing which you can't achieve if you use a one length guard all over.
Those are awesome, I am not sure I am ready to go that short, but who knows, everybody is still so shocked I cut it as short as I did this time, maybe once that wears off they will be able to deal with a crew cut. lol.
I printed a picture of Andrea Osvart from her web site and showed it to my wife, and she really liked it and agreed to give it a try. It was actually the shortest style that was featured on her. Yesterday we went for haircuts and showed the pic to the stylist and my wife wound up with a super cute pixie cut. She cut the sides and back with a #4clipper guard, scissor cut the top to about an inch, and tapered the sides and back even shorter clipper over comb. It is really a very stunning style.
