August 2008 (in sun)
Here is my hair taken out in the sun. I have been using KIEHLS products on my hair and really like the results. I also use the AUBREY Honeysuckle Rose conditioner after I wash with my VO5 extra body conditioner. Once a week I will wash my hair with this KIEHLS shampoo: All-Sport Everyday Shampoo, and then as a leave-in I love the KIEHLS Hair Conditioner and Grooming Aid Formula 133. I use this leave-in everyday. Since I have been using the leave-in, I have had no frizz at all, even on the most humid days, and my hair also holds it's wave better.
My son's hair in the sun
With my son Nicholas, who is 6 I have been using the All-Sport Everyday Shampoo by KIEHLS and also their Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Conditioner. This conditioner is amazing for straight hair. His hair is so easy to comb and just feels like silk.
Your hair is beautiful and so is Nicholas's. My mom used to have my brother's hair cut somewhat like that. She called it a paige boy cut. He had blonde hair just like Nicholas too!
What is your goal length?
I have a Nicholas but he has very dark hair and is letting it grow out! I should post a pic! He's such a ham! I asked him if he were going to grow it long and he said yeah! I am so excited for him! It's down past his shoulders and curly on the ends!
Addy, I would really like for my hair to grow to my waist - but it seems to take FOREVER!!! When my hair is wet it is so much longer, but then the waves bring it up quite a bit. My main goal though is to have it healthy.
I would love to see a picture of your son. My other son Christopher is growing his hair longer also.

Your hair is looking great & your sons have gorgeous hair as well. I know the feeling of taking forever to grow your hair. My hair has to reach waist to bounce up to BSL curly & reach hip to bounce up to waist curly but we will get there!
Thank you 30. I just wrote about your beautiful hair in the post where you posted your picture. I just love your hair and it will look awesome really long. Good Luck! We will get there...

I replied to your other post but I wanted to reply here as well. We will get there together. I'm a big believer in positive thinking & having people around you who reaffirm your goals. This is the first long hair forum that I have posted on & I do visit other forums but this has always been my favourite & I really like all the people here & how supportive everyone is. I will enjoy watching your progress & being part of your hair journey It looks fabulous now but will look amazing longer!
I also agree about this being a very supportive board. To me, this seems more like the "I am trying to get long hair" board. I really like it this way because those who have the long hair share their secrets willingly. We are in this journey together girlfriend. A loooooong one, but we will get there. Scissors beware!

I got another hair compliment today. Two in one week I really feel a sense of community on this board & that everyone is just really nice. We are in this journey together & I will enjoy watching your progress. I think trimming my own hair will be one of the biggest factors in my success. I've let hairdressers sabotage my growth for so long!
I love it when people take the time out to say a compliment. I try to compliment at least one person every day. For myself and hair, sometimes I have people just staring at me, which in turn gives me the creeps, and then I will hear in passing, "She has really nice hair!". Now, why can't they just tell me that? Here I am thinking I look like a dork or something.

I have people staring at me as well. Weird! I try and compliment people too but I think more people need to know how to take a compliment graciously. I've complimented women on their hair & they have looked at me strangely.

IRL we don't comment on hair like we do here. I like to give compliments to people, if I see something I like, I tell them. I agree, most don't know how to take compliments and look at you like your weird.
The support, I get here, is what keeps me growing. If I waited for someone to say something IRL, that may never happen lol.
Kimbearly you truly have beautiful long hair. It will look amazing when you get it to your waist the longer the better. You are definately right, we are all in this journey together. Even tho Im a guy growing my hair out long I feel such a sense of community from this board :)
Im glad to see your son is growing his hair out too. How long does he want it. Does we want to sport the ponytail ?
