QuoteReplyTopic: PLUM FAIRY PLEASE HELP Posted: December 15 2008 at 12:51pm
MY HAIR IS NATURALLY MED BROWN BLEACHED BLOND WITH A RECENT COLOR TOUCH UP TO NEW GROWTH THAT LEFT 2 INCHES BRASSY ORANGE ON TOP AND THE REST A WAS A LIGHTER BLOND.
I WANTED TO GO WITH A NICE CHOCOLATE CHERRY COLOR, SINCE BY ENDS WERE A BIT DRY AND I WAS WORRIED ABOUT POSSIBILITY OF UNEVEN COLOR. I FIRST USED A BROWN FILLER.
I THEN PROCEEDED TO COLOR MY HAIR WITH WELLA PROFESSIONAL COLOR W/20% DEVELOPER AS ACCORDING TO PACKAGE DIRECTIONS PROCESSED IT FOR 30 MIN.....THE COLOR LOOKED FINE AS I CHECKED IT BEFORE I RINSED OUT THE HAIR BUT AS I WAS DRYING IT MY HAIR LOOKED MORE AND MORE PLUM THAN CHERRY CHOCOLATE RED. PLEASE HELP MY CHILDREN ARE CALLING ME BARNEY AND CO-WORKERS THE PLUM FAERIE....WHAT CAN I DO...I WAS THINKING TO STRIP THE HAIR W/COLOR ZAP OR SIMILAR PRODUCT AND TRY ANOTHER RED COLOR WHAT CAN YOU SUGGEST WHAT IS BEST MY HAIR IS FINE THING AND CURLY.

Sorry to hear about your plum hair.I'm not really familar with wella, but I know alot of the girls on here use it.Did you use permanate or a semi-permanate?
If it was semi,or demi, you could try Clairol Metalex
(I used once to remove an awful natural instincts color I tried that left me looking like Ronald Mcdonald's twin)
Color Oops and color zap are also great options.
Or you could try re-coloring with a different base to try to counteract the purple.I'm not really sure what color would counteract purple,I think it may be something with a yellow/orange base.
Try reading claude's introduction to color sticky thread:
