Melissa Claire Egan

Melissa Claire Egan, who plays Annie on the ABC soap opera "All My Children," has changed her hair again. When she arrived in Pine Valley, I think the actress was blonde. Eventually she grew it out to her natural brunette -- a great look, I thought. Now, she's gone to bangs and when she wears her hair in a ponytail, she looks way too young. (Maybe not in the photo below, but if you saw her on the show...)

The brunette look is great, but I'm thinking about how that specific picture, like countless others for magazines or whatever, seems to rely on a fan to blow the bang-less hair back off the face. In reality, it never looks like that. The hair falls in the face, gets pushed around, pinned back, tucked behind the ears, etc. Unless she's outside facing into a strong wind, but I'm assuming that's rare.

So I like the bangs, not only because they look good on her, but because that's how they'd look in real life without a fan. Would like to see them with the ponytail down. As it is, she reminds me a bit of Amanda Peet, which is good - when Amanda has bangs.
