less than thrilling to be honest...and I can't help but wonder if certain liberties were taken with her right hip (our left). On the hair front, it's still not the same as the long brunette locks. No comparison for me. She just looks like a young housewife with a good color job.

She is beautiful but longer hair suits her best. The color needs to be changed to something darker, maybe a medium to darker brown with a shiny highlight and volume to add bounce.
Jockey, I fully agree with you. I don't think that Katharine's short hair is abysmal by any means, but Celine's was. KM does have a great face that could pull attention away from any bad cut. Somehow, Celine looks extremely lovely again since her long locks have returned. Bob

The thing I consistently come away with is the fact that I dont think she has chosen the right shade and I don't think she has chosen the right style. Because of that it is really hard for me to say "she looks terrible as a blonde" or "she looks better with long hair"
I think she may look great as a blonde if the color were just a better shade or if she didn't have a haircut that I consider so bland. I think she shows real potential for looking great with short hair but this particular cut is a real dud.
If she wants to commit to a short funky style then she should do so, but she should do it all the way. She should mix up the blonde to get something that is either a true platinum pixie or else get a funky bob. This in between version just doesn't work.
I know she made a huge transition so I feel silly implying that she didn't commit. Obviously she made major, major change. She just needs to fine tune a little bit before I can really judge it.
If she's going to go back to the dark I hope that she gives a very dark, almost black short look a shot. I think that would be really hot on her.

The cut, and especially the color, makes for an older woman style in my eyes. It's kind of shocking, reminding me of Celine Dion's misguided shearing from years ago. Bob
The big difference here Bob, IMO, is that Katherine McPhee has a very pretty face, which is now in the forefront, as opposed to Celine. When Celine cut her hair I thought, OK, that doesn't work! Kat obviously is much prettier and can seemingly wear different styles!
