But of course, exactly how fast do you want to cut hair. If you are like me, whenever I try to go faster to try to catch up on a scedule that is behind, I ALWAYS end up cutting myself. Then I have to stop to sanitize everything and doctor myself.
Be careful, I have a hand full of scars to prove it!
I am a professional Hairstylist/Haircolorist with 19 years experience. I have traveled all over the country for my advanced education. I am also a salon owner.:)........and I LOVE Redken!!!
Lili's right, practice is the key. Learn a system...there are many of them out there, Sasoon, Rusk, Toni &guy, the doves...Every teacher has a system. Find one you like, study it and then get disciplined...do it over and over and over, following the system of course.
I was the slowest cutter... when I got out of school. They used to tease me at the salon. I ended up at a Sasoon school and wow, they were strict. They taught us the system basics and then stood over us for a week straight ...literally stood over us and shifted our hands, guided and kept us on track. It was a hard week but wow did it ever help my confidence, speed and understanding of how to literally shape any style.
