Okay so I needed to get some help/advice on haircolor. I wanted to go to a salon and get my hair done professionally. The place I made an appointment for use socolor and colorsync (Matrix products). I am wondering if anyone having african american hair used matrix socolor or colorsync products. If so please help me decide whats best. Any advice would be great.

jm823 ive worked in a salon that uses those color and from my experience using those or any color for that matter  on afro American hair can be tricky

It can be done but with a knowledgeable stylist who has performed this service many times over.

My Advice
its really not so much about the brand is more about the stylist who using the brand a knowledgeable stylist is what you want to find jm823, because if the stylist has worked with your hair type they will know what is best for you. When your looking for a specialty service go to a specialist!
Try and find a stylist who is a color technician only they are hard to find but worth there weight in gold.

Consider this:
when you buy a cake you can go to a super market and get it from there bakery or you can go to a bakery and get a cake  with a lot more bells and whistle that are customize to your taste and designs you may pay more but you will leave a great impression on your guest.

Conclusion:
the appearance of your hair and how well you keep can say a lot about you it can either open the door for you or it can shut the door we are judge first on our appearanceEmbarrassed........find a specialist who has done what your seeking.and go with them.

From my experience working on African American hair, I would say don't use it. I do agree that it does depend on the stylist, but from the times I have seen the products used on African American hair, I have not been impressed. It tends to make African American hair look dried out & somewhat brittle. For the health of your hair, go to someone who has experience with your hair texture, so they will know off top what is best for you.
