I have 3 brand new packets of really good quality hair that i have had in my hair as fusion bonds. I dont want to get rid of the hair, am I able to somehow glue these onto a tape and use the tape method? its all bunched as loose hair, i used to use the weft method with tape all the time. but see below why i dont want to get rid of this hair just yet.

I have had glue bond single strands in my hair for about 2 years now. The first year and half were great, the last 6 months i have just had problems with excessive shedding of loose strands, even tho ive been back to my stylists numerous times to re-install, it just continues. but the thing is the hair is AMAZING!!!!

ive had them re-installed a week ago and i would say ive almost lost half a packet of hair at least. and thats with me going to back to have the tendered to after a few days. so i have honestly given up, my partner is just over hair everywhere too

thanks heaps

Did you change the type of hair your were using for your fusion (i.e. strands to bulk or weft hair to bulk)? The reason I'm asking is when you use bulk hair, it is more likely to shed than if you use strands or cut the hair off of a weft.

With bulk hair, it is very hard to maintain ALL of the tips together so when it is glued, only "some" of the tips are being glued. The other tips are too low in the strand to get glued so they will shed.

If you use strands, all of the tips are glued so the shedding is greatly minimized. With weft hair, as soon as you cut the hair off, again, all of the strands are being glued thus no shedding.

If you have bulk hair and are interested in using it, the best way is to try to  keep the tips together and just before tipping the hair, cut about a 1/2 inch off the tip to ensure all of the tip are together. Once you tip the hair and the glue has hardened, gently pull the ends of the strand to release any loose hair and discard. After this process is done, then add the strands to your hair (using a hot fusion tool to melt the tip onto your hair) and the shedding will be reduced. It will take longer to do but you will not lose so much hair after the install.
