hey guys! right, i need help with stuff.. first of all ; i have hair just past my shoulder with LOTS of layers in it.. i got these very short layer like last year while i was fitting in with a trend in school and i regret it sooo much! . . i also dyed my hair during that trend :/ regret that too as i used to have really long, strong, chocolate brown hair! wahh i've learned from my mistakes! anyways, i need help with what i should do to get back on track with my old hair.. so i have an idea, my layers have grown longer and are just below my ears now.. so i have an idea to let it grow my layers grow a bit longer , and then get my hair cut up to the layers.. and for the colour? let my hair dye grow out a bit and then get it "dip dyed" - http://www.google.ie/imgres?q=dip+dyed+hair&hl=en&gbv=2&biw=1280&bih=709&tbm=isch&tbnid=yeAruI3fyCCmpM:&imgrefurl=http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/dos-and-donts/hairstyle-pictures-today/2011/04/20/caroline-flack-dip-dyed-curls&docid=2Q5qepwbSehnhM&imgurl=http://cdni.condenast.co.uk/592x888/a_c/cflack_gl_20apr11_pa_b.jpg&w=592&h=888&ei=XJPWTpskg6mEB_nbnWE&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=315&vpy=322&dur=1044&hovh=275&hovw=183&tx=147&ty=148&sig=115314099907427072474&page=1&tbnh=160&tbnw=116&start=0&ndsp=23&ved=1t:429,r:9,s:0 . . . . then eventually just get my natural long hair grow back?... would this work ?

Simply? I would suggest letting the layers grow. Layered hair is in right now, but it is much longer than the short 80's style layers. The chocolate brown, (don't you like it when ladies talk of their hair in terms food? Guys get hungry..) Brown is fine and lovely. Anyways, long bangs are in. So, cutting up to the layers might give your hair an unnatural appearance of being fringed. Unfortunately, that means all wiffs, puffs and breezes will put you hair in your eyes, but it will be worth it. Allow the back to come to a desirable length and trim, then let the other layers get longer so rest and skim the shoulders. Guys like that. I do! Don't forget to condition anything beyond 2,3 inches.
Don't let anyone fool you. Cutting inches off to tell you your hair will get long is just play by stylists to make money. THe only way to get long hair is to grow, and treat it properly
