Hello everyone I have an Afro, my hair strands are about 4-5 inches long. It's naturally black but I want to add color to it. The color is of no concern however I pose this question. Is it possible to only partially dye your hair my target areas are the tips of my hair as I would like to keep my roots their natural color. If any can help me make this transition it would be greatly appreciated.

yes, with foils it's possible to just do the ends of the hair.
What type of color are you going for? Black hair has to be prelightened if you are going for brown, blonde, red ends. Coloring black hair blue (blackish) or dark purple doesn't need prelightening in general)
I agree with the other poster, you can dye the ends only and the process of dying your hair depends on what color you want to achieve. If you have never done this before I would suggest going to a salon the first time.
