Bananas - the new miracle ingredient?

I really couldn't help but notice but in all my wanderings around the forums more and more products are popping up using bananas as their main 'miracle ingredient'.

So when I came across a banana milk shampoo (branded by Leonor Greyl) I knew I had to say something.

Does anyone know this brand? Or even better, does anyone have an understanding of why bananas are being used in beauty and hair products?
