Well I`m 20 and I`m pretty much going through the same thing you are. I recently went to the dermotologist and I told her about my condition. It is called Telogen Effluvium. You should look it up on the internet, there is alot of information on this condition. Discontinuing birth control was the cause of my condition. And it corrects itsself. It deals with your hormones. So check the internet, cause it sounds as if we have the same condition.
Hi, I`m 30 years old and i have suffered from hair loss for most of my life, starting at around 16. Although i have no visible thinning, i do have very fine hair and loose lots of it daily, and like you, it gets on my clothes, chair, furniture and pillow. i hate this. i have tried vitamins and even Nioxin, but I found Nioxin to be very irritating to my scalp. I have found most recently that the best thing for me has been scalp massage, 3 times a week with Rosemary oil. this takes a while to work, it`s taken about 3 months for me to see results, but the improvement has been dramatic. When I wash my hair, it no longer falls out in clumps, it doesn`t stick to my body when I bathe and it doesn`t clog my drain. It has been amazing. I massage prior to exercising or going for a walk as the body heat generated by this helps the oil penetrate. I use Rosemary essential oil in a Jojoba base. Then I shampoo as usual. Natural shampoos aren`t necessarily better, i have found they can be worse because they lack silicone which helps the shampoo glide through the hair, without silicone you pull alot when you wash and actually have more fall out. so, salon brands that are gentle, are good. avoid harsh detergents in your shampoo, and i have found washing more often to be better than not washing. if you want more info, email me at IrinaDax@aol.com Good luck.
I`ve been losing my hair for a period of 10 years...it wasn`t until recently that I took a serious look at this problem as a layperson. Let me get to the point..Very few will believe me...but the entire medical and drug community/ profession is not politically or monetarily motivated to help you but is in fact rewarded for death, illness, continued ailments and illness and major deception on the American people...Without going to deep..know that there is a better way and there are medical secrets that your doctor doesn`t know or even want you to find out..QUIT TRUSTING YOUR GODS SO MUCH.....ok....I recently came across a drug free product that operates on a cellular level (not topical);and is powerful enough to heal..... I`ll just say when the body corrects itself regeneration, repair and restoration can begin...... This product has helped regain my hair thickness and reversed the recession...Now realize just because it worked for me doesnt mean it will work for you...(there are plenty of other benefits you may enjoy though) By the way this was a SIDE EFFECT of using the product!..My taking the product was only for wellness reasons...NO, the company does not promote itself in any shape, way or form as a solution to hair loss. If you want more information on it email me at prophet_4u2000@yahoo.com God speed to you.
The Nioxin line of products really does work. It will stop you hair loss but you won`t see immediate results (three to four weeks I think is the norm.) By this time you can visit your dermatologist and he/she may be able to prescribe you something stronger or help you change your diet if necessary. If you cannot find Nioxin try a line called Therapy G. Very similar to the Nioxin line but not as many cool products. I agree on the egg comment. That seems if-y. Try a deep reconstructor once a week instead. The one by Nioxin is incredebly gentle and specifically for fine fragile breaking hair. WARNING: Do NOT use a reconstructor more that once a week. I know from personal experiance that the excess amount of protein will do more harm than good. Just once a week is enough to bring you hair back from the brink, I promise.

Never use eggs for any beauty treatment. First of all the protein molecules are much too large to be absorbed into the hair shaft. Second of all, you never want to use anything that can go bad. Smelling rotten eggs coming out of your hair would sure make you feel attractive.
Now, that being saidm hair loss can be cause by many different things. If you arent under stress, you havent changed your diet, you are healthy otherwise, your hair could be at a catagen stage. This stage is where the hair releases from the scalp and is replaced by a new hair. Obviously the new hair is going to be tiny, peach fuzz looking. It will grow in to what is called a terminal hair (a full mature hair) unless you damage it by vigorous rubbing of the scalp, etc.
My suggestion is getting a product called Nioxin. It will cost you about $1 a day but there is nothing like it anywhere else. It consists of a cleanser, (conditioner if you need one), and a treatment. You use the product each time you shampoo. It guarantees to stop excessive daily hair loss in thirty days or less.
First you find out if your hair is breaking or pulling out at the root. This is vital! If it is pulling out at the root the problem is internal, such as diet or lack of necessary nutrients. If it is breaking, it is an external factor, which may easily be arrested by replacing lost moisture. Here are 5 things for you to try if your hair is breaking:
1 Saturate the scalp and hair with wisked egg and leave it in for an hour before washing your hair. Do this twice a month for a natural non-toxic protein boost. Trust me it works!
2 Never ever use a shampoo from the grocery store. Get two good salon shampoos for your hair condition and type and change every week or so. Try Nexxus Therappe Moisturizing shampoo and KMS Daily Repair shampoo
3 Get a reconstructive conditioner like Nexxus KerapHix and use it under a hot towel or a hot cap once a week.
4 Increase your vitamin c and protein intake in your diet.
5 Drink more water!
Good luck!

I AM SO UPSET - PLZ help!! Every time I wash my hair, it comes out in bunches. I wait until it's dry to brush gently. I use gentle shamp/cond. I'm not under stress, I'm not dying my hair, I'm not doing anything to promote this loss, but my hair is all over my chair at work, my clothes, everything. I made an appointment for a dermotologist, but that isn't for another two months! I am going nuts because I don't know what to do. I've tried almost everything .. including not washing my hair for 3 days. Hair vitamins aren't helping. Does anyone know what to do? Is there an expert on this board?
