cimetidine aka Tagamet hb

I recently read that cimetidine, the ingredient in the acid reducer Tagamet HB is sometimes used for hair loss because it`s also an anti-androgen . I did some searches on the net and of course of bunch of sites came up saying it works with a few saying it might not. Has anyone tried it or know more info on how effective it is?
