Highlights, lowlights or any type of hair color is an investment. Wouldn't you agree? Whether you DIY or pay a color expert for great color, you must always protect it.

There are tons of tricks to protect hair color and stretch its life.

What's the best way to protect it when out in the sun in any season?

It's always best to keep chemically processed hair covered to protect against the sun which can fade color, highlights and lowlights.

If that's not possible, coat strands with a light oil like jojoba, braid and wrap into a bun. This will protect colored strands.

What are you secrets for sun proofing hair color? Do you use a special product on uncovered strands?
