What type of specialist can help if you are genetically predisposed to fine, thin hair? I'd be willing to see anyone if they could help. I actually went to the Hair Club for Men & Women a couple of weeks ago. Surgery was of course too expensive, but they told me about another alternative called the Bio-Matrix Process. It involves (and I qoute) " matrix of crisscrossing, transparent fibers, fitted and shaped to the client's thinning area" that look virtually undetectable. I started doing research on it and ran into a website where people were posting endless complaints about it. Does anyone know anything about this process?

If you had a biotin deficiency, this could cause non-heredity hair loss. But true biotin deficiency is rare. There is no such thing as a brewer's yeast deficiency. If you try supplements according to the label instructions for a couple of months, and you can't tell the difference, then clearly it didn't work for you. Stop wasting your money.
Have you been to see a specialist?
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
Try this****tail. My friend's grandmother(who still has a head full of hair) swears by this.
1 cup of plain yogurt 1 cup of orange juice 3 tbl spoons of wheat germ 3 tbl spoons of brewers yeast 1 tbl spoon of lecithin granules 1 tsp of vitamin C crystals 1 egg 3 tlb spoon of gelatin powder
combine all ingredients into a blender and blend well. You can add honey for taste. Drink this****tail every morning for a minimum of 30 days. You should notice a difference within that time frame. My girlfriend tried it and says her hair has grown tremendously and is healthier than ever. I haven't tried it yet. HTH

i feel your pain. recently, i think mostly due to stress, my hair started to fall out. the first step is to de-stress. what i also did (my dermatologist recommended this), which i think really helped is used a hair oil once a week for about an hour to make my scalp healthier and my hair stronger. i tried a few different kinds. some are hard to wash out. this one i liked the best - it smells yum, and feels really good (which i guess is also relaxing?):
That is actually a really good question. Brewers Yeast does not cause any weird yeast infections. However if you are prone to them(yeast infections) it can't hurt to ask your doctor. I am not prone to infections but I did ask and was told that Brewers Yeast is a safe supplement and that it would not cause any problems for me. And it hasn't.

Hi, I want you both to know that you are definitely not alone. Many of us suffer hair loss and feel that there is no hope. Biotin is a great start to help improve the new growth as well as the overall condition of your hair. Another great way to manage the loss and possibly grow back hair that was thought to be lost is to start taking Brewers Yeast. I take this religiously every day and have been for about 5 months now and all I can say is that it is worth it! My hair has grown back and is actually growing faster. Also, the new growth is healthy, not wirey and frail like when it used to grow (which was like just a couple of inches a YEAR!) So please try Brewers Yeast. Any type of amino acid supplement is also good...I use Brewers Yeast tablets, folic acid, and Hairtopia Amino Acids every day. My reasons for hair loss are from thyroid issues as well as medication. These supplements have made me feel alive again and happy. It is so hard to lose hair...there is hope but you have to commit to your program and not give up. I hope this helps. Hi Nina. I just want to start out by saying that I feel your pain. I am the same age as you and have the same exact problem. I am unfortunately genetically predisposed to thin, fine, lifeless hair. I am constantly paranoid that I have a "bald" spot showing even though I put a ton of hairspray in everyday to hide it. I have tried every product under the sun with no positive results. I can't even imagine what it is like to have long, thick beautiful hair. If anyone out there can offer any advice I think that we both would appreciate it. Someone recently mentioned to me that I should be taking a vitamin called Biotin. Once again I will cross my fingers as I try this and hope that it works. I just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one out there with this miserable, depressing problem. Good luck with your search.

Im a 27 year old female whose hair is noticibly thinning. Both my parents have thin hair so I know its genetic. I have 3 sisters all who have thicker hair than me. (I guess I got stuck w/the gene!) Anyway, Im so self concious about it. I feel like its making me depressed! If someone has any advice for me about vitamins I can take or anything I can do I would really appreciate it. I tried cutting my hair in a shorter style but it doesnt flatter my face and I wasnt happy w/it. Now its about shoulder length, I really like the style but I cant even pull it back w/out checking in the mirror that now "bald spots" are showing. Please, please I need advice!! Thanks!
