On holidays I decided to try one of stylists. Normally a stylist will lift my hair in layers and trim each section while I am sitting down . It usually takes time. This time I was asked to brush my own hair and stand up as she trimmed exactly one inch off and it only took her ten minutes. It was a good trim. The stylist use to have knee lenght hair, then she cut it to waist lenght and then to shoulder lenght then start all over again to knee lenght and repeated the procedure in life. Today her hair is in the middle of her back.I am curious about other long hair ladies and trims. Does the stylist ask you to stand up or are you sitting down? Does the stylist lift your hair and trims right across and shapes it all the same time?

I don't have a stylist, in that I don't go to a salon. My very best freind, and former room mate,(until she got married),trims my hair at my apartment. She does it while I stand, with all of my hair behind my shoulders, in one straight cut, near the top of my thighs. She has done this for me since our senior year of high school, and I trust her very much. Even so, I am VERY nervous with scissors in my hair! We do this three, maybe four times a year. I really wish she would grow her hair long, too.
