Greetings,Although we will eventually be replacing the current HairBoutique Message Boards, incluing Hair Politics, with all new software that provides a variety of new features from filtering of messages registration requirements before posting, we are not ready to unveil that software yet.We had hoped to have the boards all changed over to the new software by now but no matter how many hours a day we work on the site, we never seem to get caught up. We are still trying to get caught up from our relaunch of several weeks ago.We have decided to try and reopen Hair Politics with the existing software and a listing of some Rules Of Conduct For The Board.1. We understand that by its very nature the Hair Politics Board is controversial. Topics will be controversial. The purpose of this board is to allow people to express their personal opinions. This does not mean that anyone is right or wrong in their views. It just means that they are expressing their views.2. The Hair Boutique staff including Karen & Jeff, and any other regular columnists, may have their own opinions and are free to express them. However, any messages that are official Hair Boutique messages will be listed as The Hair Boutique or Karen & Jeff.3. The Hair Boutique will not tolerate any attempts to try and force the Hair Boutique staff to become arbitrators or mediators in any personal problems that occur between posters. If a problem becomes obvious between a small number of people, Hair Boutique will ask those posters to take it off line. Hair Boutique will not take sides, proclaim anyone as right or wrong and they will not tolerate any private email attacks related to the board.4. It is not Hair Boutique's wish or intent to censor this board. We wish to encourage freedom of speech and sharing of ideas and conversation. This concept can only work if everyone is willing to refrain from using the board as a way to promote a personal agenda or vendetta.5. Please refrain from direct personal attacks, profanity or ethnic, religious or any other type of slurs. Any posts that are deemed to be attacks or inappropriate will be promptly removed by The Hair Boutique staff.6. Please do not use this board to publicize your own agenda, market any hair care or related products or promote other sites. Please limit the discussions to topics related to the politics of hair.7. Anyone who consistently violates the rules of the board will be politely and privately asked to stop posting. We appreciate your efforts to help us re-open this board and make a fresh new start.Best wishes,The Hair Boutique
