Hi Karen & Jeff, I love the new board. I was away for the holidays and just found it. A great idea. I have very curly hair 3-4 inches past the bottom of my shoulder blades. I want to let it get REAL long!. Actually the humidity helps me. It seems to look the best on a humid day. I get great ringlets. My hair looks very much like Bernadette Peters. Karen, I have been meaning to thank you for the suggestion you gave me about hair sticks. You sent me a picture of a man with very long hair braided with hair sticks as an accessory. It was great. My hairstylist braided my hair for a holiday party and put in some black laquer hairsticks. They went great with my black velvet outfit. I got so many compliments from the women at the party. By the way, I am having trouble logging in. It takes my name, but not my password. I have been a member for over a year. Dave Decker, After hearing so much about your hair and reading many of your posts, is it possible to see a picture of your hair? I would like to see how a real pro let his hair get so long. Glad the hairsticks info helped. I actually saw a man in Dallas last weekend with lots of braids spaced around his head and the smaller 6 1/2 inch hairsticks laced inside the braids (like we did in the Shelley Pryor) gallery. He had 6 different hairsticks spaced at the top of 6 different braids but he was wearing about 12 braids. He had mid-back length. It looked really awesome.
I stopped and asked him about his hair and he said his girlfriend braids it for him. He was wearing a suit and told me that he is a M&A attorney. Which I thought was just too cool.
So keep experimenting and let us know.
We need to get Dave Decker to send us a new photo. I know his hair has grown considerably since the last HB.com photos. (So Dave, hint, hint?).
