Has anyone here quit smoking and noticed a difference in the growth and condition of your hair?

besides the smelling better?

I dated a heavy smoker and after I stopped seeing him regularly, my hair has gotten better... better shine, stronger, less shedding, other improvements I can't put my finger on at this point.
But I don't smoke myself.
