Maybe you looked like a guy AnaisSatin when you had short hair but not all of us women do.
Do women like Halle Berry or Alyssa Milano or Toni Braxton look like guys when they wear their hair short? I really don't believe so. On the contrary, they look exceedingly feminine. If you have feminine features that can be brought out even more with a short 'do.
It depends upon the woman, some look better with short hair than with long hair and have better experiences with it.
Yup, I agree. Of course not everybody is going to have the same experiences I did. Halle Berry is gorgeous for her facial proportions, and her haircut shows that off.

Definately 50/50. But, i have very noticable hair, long or short. I'm a redhead and have very curly hair. It's been waist-length and as short as 4 inches.
Short hair on me still looked wild and sexy and i think made me more approachable. Many men i worked with (100+ in my office) confessed that they find short hair very sexy on a woman and wished their S/O would cut theirs.
With long hair it was a bit overwhelming i think form many but i definately got lots of looks from both men and women.
I think i got hit on the most when i was just below shoulder-legth, blonde and straightening every day. But i was often treated with less respect as well.
CO wash only since September '04! Dyed red botticelli curls (3b), fine and just past shoulder length

Frizzygurl makes a great point and maybe this should be a new thread but I do noticed that times when I've gone lighter blonde, I get less respect from men. The darker my hair, the nicer guys I meet. Anyone else have similar experinces?
There I go again having just the opposite experience! I had my hair platinum blonde for a long time, and I thought men treated me better then than they ever did when I was brown or black. They treated me okay when I was red too.
I personally think it's same as with long or short, it's what looks good on you personally. My coloration looked better with blonde or red, and I have sort of funny features that stand out when I'm brown, and a lot of people didn't find me pretty at all then. But somehow everyone thought I was pretty when I was blonde, and guys were nicer to me when I was prettier I think.

When I met my wife three years ago she had permed hair to the middle of her back. Now it is cut in a very short boyish haircut, and she get''s much more attention from men,as well as me.

i used to have longish hair...but i found it gave me headaches, as it was so thick and long. i cut it off really quite short and the reaction was funny. i had half the guys telling me it looked awesome, and the other half telling me i looked better with long hair. so, either way it doesnt matter much. i have found though, i get more attention when my hair is short than long....maybe its because it highlights my cheekbones of what i dont know. Who understands men anyway!!!?! i surely dont! in the end though, i keep my hair short. simply because its much cooler and more appropiate for my sporting commitments.
i had short hair for a few years as im now growing it out just for a change. It all depends on your facial structure and if the overall look of short hair is alook you can pull off. I got attention from guys- my cut made me feel liberated and more outgoing and fun. It takes confidence to get away with a short cut- it also takes a lot of time and effort-- i say dont take the easy way out- own your short locks and work it with confidence- youll get the attention youre looking for--gauranteed
