I need to find out how to dye the tips of my hair

To really get the look where the tips are blonde and the roots are natural here is how it works. The whole head needs to be bleached and with your hair being black I suggest a professional to do it. Then after two hair cuts your roots will be perfect and your tips are white!

Or try having your hair pulled up out of a frosting cap.
You can try one of the kits. Then you bleach the hair that is sticking out. IMPORTANT!! If your hair color is not the blonde you want, do not remove the cap, just wash off the old bleach and make up a fresh batch. With your hair dark it may need two applictions. To speed up the bleaching put a plastic bag over your head and do not let the bleach dry up. good luck, Gretchen
