Ok my hair is really really thick. It is not coarse, just just thick and slightly wavy. If I blow it out, it gets straight but thats not my problem. My problem is no matter what I do to it, whether I airdry it or blowdry it, it gets so big and pouffy!!! (It gets worse when I blowdry it.) My hair is a bit below my shoulders and I'm trying to grow it out so it won't be so pouffy. But while it's growing out, how do I stop it from looking so big? Also, it feels gross and damaged, even if I use a conditioner, it gets greasy on top but still feels somehow dry at the tips. Thanks
Hey i totaly know how it is! both my friend and I have the same type of hair so what we do is blow dry it with a air diffuser and use some de-frizzing gel thats siliconed based. It really works and my hair actauly looks neat and curly, way better!
Hello! I've had lots of success with Frizz Ease serum. Actually, Frizz Ease has an entire line of products, some you can put exactly where you want it (the ends, for you). Something else that works is, when the hair is wet, add a couple drops of baby oil. It adds shine just where you want it, and doesn't appear greasy when the hair has dried. Best Wishes, Aeva
HEY THERE. i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THICK, COARSE HAIR. i THINK BECAUSE YOU BLOW DRY IT, IT BECOMES DAMAGED. wASH IT AT NIGHT, THEN PUT SOME PAUL MITCHELL LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER. bRUSH IT OUT THROUGH OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE YOU GO TO BED. iN THE MORNING SPRITS IT WITH LOREAL ANTI-FRIZZ. gOOD LUCK!
O.k I use to have a problem like that. First of all don't blow dry it, you are making it worse and that is why your ends are so dry and damage. You may also be over conditioning. Only condition every other day, that why it gets more treatment slowly. Also don't use that much, just a little in the center of your hand. Air drying is the best, get some Frizz-Ease from the drug store and that will help calm down your hair.
My hair is the same as yours-thick and poufy. My hair isn't frizzy either so I think we have the same hair texture. Anyway, my hair is above my shoulders so I know what you're saying when you say POUF! I usually blow dry my hair with cool air (because the warmer the temperature, the poufier the hair), and when it's completely dry I put very a very minimal amount of Redken waterbased hair sculptor in the ends of my hair and a little ways up the hair. Whatever you do-do NOT put any kind of wax, hair gel, sculptor, etc..near the the roots. That makes it look greasy and really weighed down, which you don't want. Another thing I do to reduce the poufiness is to not wash it every single day...on the weekends when I'm not really doing anything I'll put conditioner in my dry hair and leave it in there for an entire day and wash it out the day after it was left in. This makes your hair softer and WAY less poufy. If none of this works then you probably have damaged hair, and may want to go to a salon and get a relaxer put in your hair. Well, I hope I could help you out a little bit. Let me know how my tips work out for you.Bye!
