QuoteReplyTopic: Styles HERE for many different hair types!! Check it out!! Posted: April 18 2000 at 2:47pm
Hey Everyone! Thanks for reading. One time, my friend e-mailed me with a tons of suggesstions on how to fix or style hair. Now, I'm just passing on the information to you! Happy Reading =o)
Try these styles: 1) The French Twist What you’ll need: Brush Pomade Hairpins Hair Spray Brush your hair to rid it of any tangles. Work in some pomade throughout your hair. Gather all your hair at the nape of the neck. Twist the hair upward with your right hand while tucking the hair into the ‘tunnel’ that is forming with your left hand. Secure with hairpins along the ‘tunnel.’ Now, here comes your options with the hair that’s remaining- you can either curl it for a fancy look, leave it hanging loose for a casual look, or you can tuck in with hair pins. Spray with hairspray.
2) The Ponytail What you’ll need: Brush Rubber Band Hairpins (optional) Hair ribbons (optional) There’s really no need to explain how to do this one- I’m sure you know how to already. Here are some ideas that you can do to make the ponytail more unique. Take a strand of hair from the ponytail, braid it, (intertwined a hair ribbon if you want) and wrap it around the base of the ponytail. Secure with hairpins.
3) Heidi Braids What you’ll need: Comb Rubber bands Part your hair down the middle and in the back. Section off half of your hair to keep it out of your way. With the other side, separate the hair into three sections. Cross one outer section over the middle. Cross the other outer over the new “middle” section. Continue this pattern until one inch before the end of your hair. Secure with a rubber band. Repeat with the other side.
4) Old Fashioned Twists What you’ll need: Hairpins Pretty barrette Comb Part your hair down the middle. Gather all the hair on your left side just above your ear. Starting at the hairline, take a small section of hair and twist it back towards your scalp, adding more hair till your get an inch or more past your ear. Secure with the barrette. Repeat with the other side. Undo the barrette (make sure to keep a hold of the twist) and clip the two twists together at the crown. 5) Hippie Style Braids What you’ll need: Comb Rubber Bands Plastic Flower (optional) Part your hair down the middle. Gather one inch of hair from one side and braid till one inch before the hair ends. Secure with rubber band. Repeat with the other side and tie the two together at the crown. Add a fake flower or pretty barrette.
6) Ringlets What you’ll need: Curling Iron (One inch barrel or less) Pomade Brush Hairpins Time- (expect to spend at least 30 minutes on this, the smaller the barrel on the curling iron, the more time it will take to complete) Brush out all of your hair. Spread some pomade throughout your hair, focusing on the ends to prevent heat damage. With the curling iron, take a one-inch strand and twist it around the barrel. Hold for 15 seconds and release. Pin the curl to keep its shape. Continue this process until all your hair is curled. Undo the pins and style as you want. (Tip- Headbands and tiny barrettes look great with this style)
7) 1940’s Style Waves What you’ll need: Jumbo Curlers Brush Hairspray Blow dryer Pretty barrette Brush out all of your hair. Spritz your mane with hairspray. Wrap large sections of your hair around the rollers and blow dry with a low heat setting. Wait a few minutes after blow drying to let the hair cool. Take out the curlers, and lightly brush your hair. Make a deep part of either the left or the right side and add a pretty clip.
7) The ‘Messy’ Bun What you’ll need: Brush Hairpins Pomade/gel/ or hairspray Gather your hair into a ponytail. Add any gel, pomade or hairspray to the mane. Wrap large sections of hair sloppily around the base of the ponytail and pin. If your hair is rather silky, it may be best to “backbrush” your hair before pinning (run your brush up the hair shaft instead of downwards). To achieve a more spiky look, use pomade and focus it on the ends of your hair.
8) Super Straight 70’s hair What you’ll need: Straightening balm Blow Dryer Paddle Brush Shine serum Smooth a straightening balm into damp hair. Using the paddle brush, blow dry your hair pointing the nozzle downwards. Apply a shine serum once hair is dry.
9) Braided Headband What you’ll need: Brush Rubber bands Hairpins At least shoulder length hair Take a 2 inch section on each side of your head and braid down as far as you can without it falling apart. Secure with rubber bands. Take the right hand braid and bring it over towards the left and pin. Now, take the other side and bring it over to the right and pin alongside the first braid. The end result should look like a cool headband.
10) Britney Spears style waves What you’ll need: Brush Pomade or gel Blow Dryer Medium size curlers Brush slightly damp hair. Work in the gel or pomade throughout your hair. Take one inch sections and twist the hair so it coils, wrap each section normally around a curler. Once all curlers are in, blow dry your hair, making sure you get the dryer to point in all directions, even on the underside of the curler. Take the curlers out, and finger style it the way you want.
