When you have dark hair the best bet is to only go two shades lighter with highlights.

Dark hair has a tendency to pick up reds with new color unless you do a bleach process first to remove all your existing color if you want to go for a white or yellow blonde color. The only problem with this is that the bleach can be harsh and drying to your natural hair color.

To do a soft highlight do no more than 2 colors lighter which should give you a soft chocolate brown or maybe a tiny hint of auburn. I would experiment with just a few streaks around your face so you can see how your hair reacts. If you like the results, do the rest of your hair.

If not, let it grow out and no harm is done.

To get the super blonde streaks you will need to go to a color expert to make sure your hair is not damaged in the process.

Best wishes,
Karen
