The good news is if you leave it alone, it will grow back. Most people's hair grows at least 1/2" per month. (Just keep your head away from paper shredders and be thankful you didn't get an actual body part caught in the shredder. Things could be much worse.) My hair caught on fire once and I lost a lot of length. I cried about it when it happened, but my hair grew back.

P.S. Some people swear by their own rapid-growth methods, but I think the only sure way to grow your hair long is to keep it healthy, be patient and just let it grow.
My user name is WAY too long. Just call me Juliana. :-)

Aww, Destin, I'm sorry to hear of your bad luck. Unfortunately all you can do is wait. There's no miracle for fast growth. From now on, pull your hair back when you're near a shredder!

Hair in shredder. Hair burned on stove top. Hair got in paint, food, , door, cleaner or whatever I was doing at the time. You'd think I'd learn. I usually try to keep some scrunchies around or in my bag so they are available when needed. I have special kerchiefs and hats for cooking and cleaning. I also wear crochetted snoods alot.

Mind your hair. It is really a shame when hair gets damaged because it takes so long to grow.

try to be patient. Keep a healthy diet, take your multivitamins. Be gentle when you wash it, do deep conditioning treatments to keep it healthy. Take biotin, i take it. It's not magical, but it at least ensures you get the 1/2 inch or whatever you get/month. It also has no side effects, other than slightly more bodily hair.
Good luck, i know how saddening it can be to lose hair against your will.
