I have visited these boards occasionally and thought I`d for once use them! I have just come out of a relationship and am looking for a big change in my appearance. I am bored with my long straight hair and want a style which is individual and different. It is something I have set my heart on doing for some time, which probably explains why we split up. I am 23, 5 feet 6 and average/slim in build with a fairly round face. My hair is dark brown, just above my butt and I do not have bangs.

The feedback I have had suggests a bob, maybe inverted and with the nape shaved. I love the idea of wearing an undercut.

If anyone would like to give me some ideas of how the`d like me to have my hair I`d love to hear from them. I do have some ideas but love the input of others.

As part of my change I intend getting new and exciting clothes and maybe if I get the courage a nose ring and navel ring as they seem in at the moment.

I did all that when I was 22 and it was one of the most fun years of my life! I went from long, curly, brown hair to a bleach-blonde bob with an undercut and got my nose and belly pierced all within a few weeks. I say go for all of it!! :) And if you are the type, get a tattoo too!

I think the inverted bob sounds fantastic - mind you, that is my favourite hairstyle of the lot, so . . .

Wow! I am not sure I`d look nice blonde but it`s a lovely idea! I still have the long hair but I have some piercings now and they look fantastic! I love them! The main problems are work and people saying I look lovely leave it long.

Well...maybe I`m biased in favor of long hair...but those people may well be right - your hair does sound great as it is!

You can have lots of changes without cutting the hair off short...piercings and exciting new clothes go well with long locks after all..... :o)

I got my hair cut from real long to a real sexy colar bone cut. It looked great. Sexy and not much of a change. If your scared... go to a wig shop, and try on a few / seriously. That way you will know. Because after years of growing you can get it back once its gone good luck.
