QuoteReplyTopic: My thick, frizzy, wavy, dry scalp hair Posted: September 13 2001 at 6:13pm
Someone please help me! My mom is a cosmetologist but she almost do nothing and she`s too busy! My hair is soooooooo thick! Plus it`s frizzy! And wavy! When I brush my hair it`s all frizzy! First it`s all together in beautiful curls. But when I brush it, it gets all apart and frizzy. (by the way my hair is long and layered) But if I leave it curly it just becomes a tangle. Also I have dandruff. My scalp is so dry! I don`t know what to do if I try to fix one thing another gets ruined! I also have split ends! When I brush my hair alot of hair is on the brush!Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay Gwen DO NOT BRUSH DRY HAIR!!!!! EVER! Brush it when it is wet. Sometimes On like a day when I have a date or something I wash my hair and put mose in it and let it air dry and it stays in this beautiful curl. But NEVER brush dry hair!!!!!!! Whenever possible air dry you hair blow drying drys it out.
First, do NOT brush curls! No no no! I`m a curly head too (natural), and if I want the curls, I don`t even look at a brush.
Second, curls are going to look a wee bit messy. That`s the attraction of them. Just be sure to keep that in mind! Curls give you the "free spirit" look - very sexy. As far as keeping your curls under control (frizz is not fun, I know), try a little leave-in conditioner. You should be able to find some at Wal-Mart. Also, any kind of non-alcohol based gel does wonders. I typically take some gel, mix it with some water in my hands (not much, just like if you quickly rinsed your hands), and then start defining the curls, pulling the gel thru them.
Also, for your dry scalp, remember not to wash your hair every day. Curly heads just can*not* do this. Our hair is naturally much coarser and drier, and if you wash it every day, you`ll be in a pitiable business. It`s just rotty. Just like it`s bad for people with fine hair *not* to wash it every day, it`s bad for people with thick curly hair *to* wash it every day.
My final word will be - conditioner. Conditioner is your friend. You can never have too many - moisturizing, deep treatment, replenishing, etc, etc - they`re all good.
Good luck love. Lora
PS - do a search on Ouidad. She`s the big curl guru in the world of cosmetics.

To get rid of those split ends, trim your hair, girl is right, don`t brush dry hair. And to get rid of those frizzies, use "Frizz-Ease" It works really well and you can find it anywhere, Target, Wal-Mart, Albertsons...practically anywhere, good luck. Oh, ask your mom for help.
never ever brush wet hair!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! it will rip your hair to shreds!!!!(sorry Girl)check out my post on the general hair talk which is comb vs. brush?
it`s all good.

um..this is a tip for Girl!!! you dont brush wet hair!!!!!! cause when ur hair is wet than its more weak and u get lots of split ends stupid!! dont give out tips when ur not even sure bout it! but goldielockes just gave u good tips! but if u want to get rid of ur dandruff dont use head and shoulders products! those stuff is bad for ur hair. Just let it go away naturly or you could go to a hair salon and get a good shampoo for it! but if u go out in the sun a lot put some sunscreen on ur scalp cause thats one way to you get dandruff by staying out in the sun for to long!
Some people live their whole lives and never fall in love. I lived my life but I fell in love.
