I need a product that will hold my hair quite stiff, yet be just a little bit flexible to wave a little in the wind and water resistant would be good too.

My hair is long at the front, it gos just past my chin, I like wearing it straight up, but the gel I`m useing just isn`t holding like it used to, I have to spend atleast 45min getting it up correctly and another 20 if it`s going to be water resistant, very taxing on my hair methinks.
I`m currently useing Helena- Super hold gel

If anyone can think of a product preferably a gel le me know:)

thanks

heres a pic of mah hair about 7months ago
my hair has grown a tad since then

note: I`m not angry, I was infront of a mirror an be`n stupid, not like I feel anger anyway

an a normalish pic
Note: I was lying on my side, so I had to turn the pic 180

Yes I know 6 edits, but I`m jus getting used to this type of board(dang Ezcodes mixing me up)

okay 7 edits, mah pic turned out life size Do`h/lol

LA Looks makes good gels- at least for female hair, but it shouldn`t be any different. Its not gunky or nasty, and it works pretty well.

Does it hold anywhere near as good as arcrylic art paint?

lol I used some at a concert 4 weeks ago, with the help of some gel it kept my hair horns solid for 2 mosh pits:)

probably not that good haha. this is gonna sound so disgusting, but egg actually makes your hair stay really well. i`m not a freak, the only reason i know this is my sister`s on the swim team and she has to put it under her swim cap.

awesome hair dood!!! I love the color--is it manic panic?? I want that color :p Anyway.. I`ve been trying to find some good hair products as well.... I have this gunky stuff called "strung out! head wear". http://www.headwear-intl.com/

If you`re willing to pay a little more money for hair products I suggest getting anything in bed-head (tigi) line.

I also found this really good hair spray that holds super well-- it`s called "freeze it" megafreeze hair spray--but make sure you get the 24 hour hold (there`s 18 hour but it really isn`t the same!!). I found both of these at wal-mart btw, so, they shouldn`t be hard to get ahold of.

One last suggestion would be to do it the old skool way with sugar and water :p

peace out and great hair!!

It`s acctulay from the www.fudge.com/ paintbox range :) its "pretty flamingo"
I`ll go check out the headware site an I don`t think I`ll checkout the tigi range(I use way to much product in experiments and when I need water resistance)
and the Hair Spray hmm...
...well I may just have to break or rewrite my 4th comandment
"Thou shalt not use hairspray"
but since I`m in NZ I probally won`t find it anyway

Thanks much very :p for the suggestions Melanie:)

I did get it bleached (or what eva its called), bu it cost me like $40USD (which is alot for me) so it came out pretty well, I don`t think I`ll do it again anytime soon though, dead hair yuk

heh some really good gels are protek that can spike my foot long curly hair fairly well...But however the strongest version of it discolors your hair, so you might want to try to get the clear protek but its not as strong i have also heard that softe freez (heh i think that was the name of it, it looks like clear protek and about the same price...a $1)

Spiker really sux, it doesn`t hold that well and its very hard to wash out...Glue works beautifully but it takes forever to dry so in other words you would have to be hanging upside down, or have somebody hold your hair up. Just stick it underneat hot water and it melts right now a whole lot easier to get out then spiker.

more weird things to use is shaving cream that works great also...try using the shaving cream plus moisturizer and it leaves your hair super soft after being in it for around 8 hours.

My friend said that wood glue works even better then normal glue, and its easier to get out of your hair, but i dunno i haven`t tried it.

The egg method is used as egg+super glue+toothpaste i think, your hair isn`t nearly long enough for that:P thats like 2 feet length spikes, and thats definently only for hardcore punks.

Another thing that i found worked well is the hard hair wax (i used beyond the zone`s hair wax) and melt it in the microwave. then i put it in my hair while it was hot and didn`t put much foundation on the base and it dried it less then a minute and it also held for 20 minutes (considering we didn`t really try and it only took less then a minute to form one thin spike on curly hair thats pretty good.)

heh that is all the different things i have tried/heard of (only ones i haven`t tried is the egg combo, and wood glue.)

Well majority of that stuff shouldn`t be that hard to find...majority of it is just regular household items, and then the protek can be found at walmart (although the clear protek is somewhat rare.) There is then the other stuff the(urgh ican never remember the name of it, i said it on my previous post haha) can be found at like a family dollar...so all these items which i said is very easy to find:)

okey family dollar =any dollar store (if you have any of those) and okay hmmm...due to the fact that i have never even heard of those i don`t know what the heck any of those are;) if k-mart is even vaguely like ours that might be close to walmart lol...but i believe protek can be almost found in all the stores that have a haircare section (but of course i`m probably wrong)
