Hey everyone. I have naturally [extremely] thick and wavy/coarse hair. I`m really tired of it, to be honest. I`ve been looking up on chemically straightening treatments, and I`m sort of interested in doing that. I just want to hear back from some girls who might`ve had that done. What is your opinion on it, and what were your results? I got my hair layered (big mistake!) about a year ago, and ever since... it`s been one big disaster. I have to wear it up in a bun, or in a hat most the time because I`m so embarassed. I`ve got a straightener at home, but it takes way too long (over an hour) to use, and doesn`t totally straighten out all my hair -- plus I usually end up burning my fingers, ouch! I need some feedback on this! Is anybody else considering doing this? How much does it cost? Is it worth it?!

About my hair color... I would never change the color. I love it. It`s dark brown, and when the sun shines on it, my natural auburn highlights show up. I think it`s unique, I just wish I could wear it down... the way it is now, I can`t.

Sorry to have said so much, I`ll shut up now and let you post your opinions! Thanks in advance. :)

Thermal reconditioning sounds loads better, but unfortunately I definately couldn`t afford to have that done. =/

When I was in gr 2 or so... I got my hair chemically

straightened (now I`m in gr 10). But it didn`t come

out right because I had very thick, slightly wavy

hair (I still do..). Anyways, recently I went to the

hair salon to get a perm and my mom asked my

hairstylist about getting my hair chemically

straightened. My hairstylist said that because the

technology is so much better now, she can

straighten my very thick hair really well. But the

only negative thing is that it will still take 4 hours

or more (since I have very thick hair). I was going

to get my hair chemically straightened but my hair`s

usually looks bad when it`s really really straight

because it`s so thick.. so I decided to get a perm

that made my hair more wavy/curly.

P.S: If you tend to have a big face, I wouldn`t

suggest that you get your hair chemically

straightened. But if you want to...then go ahead!

Tell me how it goes!
