medium hair want to grow it long dont know what to do with it

HELP!!!!!!! Im a guy, 13 years old and i have hair almost to my shoulders. i want to grow it long, but it looks terrible in a pony tail and terible with out . I want to find a hair style that looks cool and doesnt include cutting it. i would really appreciate it if someone could give me some advice.THANKS!!!!!

Boy, that is a tough one. It looks bad in a ponytail and it looks bad out. I don't see many options here.

Also note Amber's irony. She has a similar problem, and also utters the "i don't want to cut it line"

So that leads us to, with simple reasoning, this:

--- Her opinion is 99.4 % sexist.
--- Her opiinion, if part of the 0.6 % remaining, isn't worth squat until she follows up on this "advice" she so *kindly* gave to others.


If I hate anything more than religious nuts, it's sexists. 85 % opf people have a religion, while 100 % of people have a gender. (And in some rare cases, 2.)

I gave advice by redirecting him to somewhere where he is likely to get more help by people millions of times more knowledgeable than me.

You gave your opinion which can be fairly paraphrased as "Yuck, cut it!" --- That's your opinion, sure, but that sure as (6th) wasn't advice !

He asked for advice like you did in your own thread, and all you offer is destructive criticism.

I hope the O.P. gets the help he wishes in the Long Hair Supprt , heck, I hope you get the help you wanted because when someone is in need, people should try, but you sure as heck don't deserve it. And me saying you're sexist isn't just opinion: once you provide 2 messages with purely diametrically opposed viewpoints and can be shown that one discriminating factor is the cause for it, it's fact.

You're entitled to have an opinion. You're also allowed to have all the biases in the world, but when you make them public, they'Re fair game for criticism. And just because it's your opinion, doesn't make it right. I could mention events in history where such though is demonstrated, but it doesn't belong on a hair board. There's private board mail if you wish to carry this on further. I feel justified starting this conversation in full view of everybody because this (your post, and justification for making it) is a type of attitude that deserves to be publicly denounced, but if whining is to ensue from it, please do so privately. My box is waiting if that is your desire.

I don't care what your date preference is (and if you're a nympho, there are forums for that).

The point is you blurted one of your opinions "I like guys with short hair" and you try to pass "Yuck, cut it !" as advice based on that.

The guy asked for advice. And you didn't provide any advice related to his dilemma under the choices and stipulations he made clear.

The point is, are you stupid or something ? He asks for help, you insult him, or at least mock the fact that he's a guy and has long hair, someone points out that you were blatantly insulting, and now you're trying to defend it on the fact that you're allowed an opinion, you can blurt it out where you feel like, and through circular logic, you're trying to make your opinion valid just on that, because it's an opinion. That's called a baseless opinion, a strawman. And you trying to use it as a reason to be a bigot. It works against people who bend over easily, maybe this poster (I said MAYBE) would bend in to your destructive criticism, but someone like me who sees through the bullcrap, it won't work, and others seeing it would be inspired by it.

No amount of reasoning and rational address will work trying to have you understand what you said wasn't advice, that it didn't deserve to be posted. It's as simple as this.


It looks like you're seeking advice, even under a timeframe. How about you use that everso important urgent timeframe SEEKING advice, good advice hopefully, instead of passing this bullcrap you posted as GIVING advice. Besides, it'S not like you'Re going to date this guy, so your sexual preference has no point in this thread anyway. Go seek out short-haired people instead of trying to bash the long and pass it off as a good-willed favor. You make me sick. (Not because you have an opinion, because you think it shields you from criticism and SIMULTANEOUSLY allow you to snipe at others under this "veil" of invulnerability.)

Amber is certainly entitled to her opinion. I would never try to change it. (BTW you can see a picture of me here at http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip033.htm ). But her response isn't helpful to "cheeseburger," so I do wonder why it was posted.

loveshort&blonde provided a humorous response . However if I re-read cheeseburger's post, I believe he means that "without" means "loose." So he appears to be looking for some other way to wear his hair besides loose or ponytail.

One look I like on myself combines these two looks (pulling top section only into a ponytail), but what are the chances that cheeseburger would like that? I say it's worth a try.

I've seen guys wear french braids, and also buns low at the nape.

Just experiment and see if you find something you like.
