Hey dandruff is definetly a drag i used to have it the worst. Not being able to wear black and always checking my shoulders was driving me crazy. Now im no hair guru or anything but I found i was washing my hair too much. I was washing my hair like 2 to 3 times a day and i wasn't doing a very good job. I switched to a shampoo called Selsun Blue and washed once a day with that and then once a day with a normal shampoo and i've been dandruff free for a while. I don't know if it will work for you but it did for me so i'm just passing it a long. Good Luck

p.s. If Selsun Blue doesnt work for you or starts working and quits try changing your shampoo to another shampoo containing any or all of the following coal-tar preparations, pyrithione zinc, salicylic acid, selenium sulfide, and sulfur.
An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.

To forgive is not to forget. The merit lies in loving in spite of the vivid knowledge that the one that must be loved is not a friend.

You might just have a really dry scalp (which has nothing to do with dandruff--which is a fungal problem) I thought I had dandruff, but it turned out to be dry scalp... You could try a deep scalp treatment with coconut oil and brown sugar... make sure to add the brown sugar right before massaging the scalp vigorously to remove dead skin and other particulate matter--Don't let the sugar melt! It's the abrasive!-- Then rinse and go through with your regular shampoo/conditioning routine.

Hey. I used to have bad dandruff. So I used Head and Shoulders <<<< that made my dandruff even worse! So I switched to Dove 'Intense Moisture' shampoo and conditioner, and that got rid of all my dandruff! The moisture in Dove shampoo and conditioner really helps a dry scalp.

BTW, a dry scalp causes dandruff. I went to my dermatologist and he told me that.

Selsun Blue is a great shampoo. It's expensive tho. I used Head and Should for about 3 weeks and that got rid if my dandruff. Also you will prolly want to add in a moisterizer when u are doing your hair. Just add it in and brush or comb it so that it gets into your scalp and with the shampoo you will see your dandruff be gone.

Sounds like DJ727 had a dry scalp instead of dandruff. A lot of people confuse the symptoms of the two. The difference is that the dandruff is caused by scalp eczema, or a fungal infection, and the dry scalp is not. Before you jump in and try all these suggested medicated products, try a moisturizing one first and see if it helps.

Try the Dove Intense Moisture shampoo and conditioner. It got rid of the dandruff and my dry scalp. I also colored my hair about 3 times this summer. See, my natural hair color was drk brown, and I wanted to be blonde, so on my 3rd attempt to go blonde, it worked. My haircolor got rid of my dandruff along with the Dove.

My dad is a dermatologist and he told me that (well i thought i had dandruff) dry scalp is oftentimes the results of shampooing ur hair TOO much, and maybe harsh shampoos. Instead use a little shampoo on ur scalp for a while and definately use those shampoos mentioned. When u over wash ur hair it dries out the scalp, trust me on this. Well good luck!
