I am interested in adding a few highlights to my hair. (My hair is light brown and am interested in adding a few blonde highlights around my face) I know color for your hair is bad- but does anyone have any recommendations on hair color that is less harmful than the usual stuff??I know an option is to see a good haircolorist but I have done it in the past and have been please with the results. (Rather not pay a lot of money for a few strands of highlights.)Julie

(My hair is light brown and am interested in adding a few blonde highlights around my face) I know color for your hair is bad- but does anyone have any recommendations on hair color that is less harmful than the usual stuff??Framesi has a good color product line. You can usually purchase Framesi at Sally Beauty which sells to non stylists as well as stylists. It would be better to see a color specialist...but if you want to go your own way....get the best coloring or highlighting product you can.You can also call a color expert and ask them what products they recommend, have them do the first highlight and then do your own after that. If you follow this procedure you can learn and then go on your own.To protect your hair BEFORE you highlight be sure to start an intensive conditioning program about 3 weeks before you highlight. I do both a hot oil conditioning and use the Aveda Deep Conditioner on a regular basis before I go for my quarterly highlights. It seems to really make a big difference and diminish any damage.Good luck.Karen (TLHV)
