pressure cut??

I use to visit a hair stylist in Dallas named "Frieda" (its been so long that's all I can remember). Anyway, she did a trim/cut called the "pressure cut", and it involved pulling a section of hair straight down kind of hard, creating tension, and then as she trimmed, she would let the hair snap back, which created tiny mini layers at the ends, and creating a much fuller looking blunt cut, which was really helpful with my fine hair. (I am not sure if I am explaining this technique 100% correctly, but its pretty close.) Has anyone else ever heard of this technique? I have never found anyone else who does this, and I would like to.Thanks, Clare
