This message is in response to Karen's story about being approached by a man at the mall asking to buy her hair. I would like to have some feedback from ladies relative to if a man should approach a lady to offer any type of hair styling service, or to determine if there is an interest on the part of the lady to having a man work with her hair. From what I see on the web, there are lots of guys who have the skills and interests to provide all kinds of service to ladies with long hair. Fundamentally, is it appropriate for a guy to ask a gal about this subject? If not, how do guys like me with a genuine interest in helping ladies care for their hair make contact with ladies who like to have men work with their hair? If so, what is the proper etiquette for asking a lady about the hair services she may need or want? I have worked with lots of ladies, and I have asked lots of ladies if they would be interested in my services. I have always taken the approach that if they say no, that's it. I usually offer a business card if there seems to be some interest. In about 20% of my contacts, ladies have been very enthusiastic finding a man who is willing to take the time to work with their long hair. I know there are lots of ladies who would love to have their hair trimmed, shampooed, brushed, or styled by men. What means can we create that will allow this to happen? Videos only go so far. I certainly enjoy the opportunity to have a great head of hair in my hands rather than on the TV screen. Comments??
