Susan: Since I don't know how your hair is cut, I'll make some suggestions pending some info on length, cut, lifestyle, etc. A high ponytail held loosely with a scrunchie is a great style to show off your curls and length. Pull the front back with barettes, and vary it from side to side and the middle. Pull the front back and braid it, then tie a ribbon around the end. Pull it all back, then do a chignon or bun. Personally, you have my favorite type of hair to work with. I think curly hair looks great. A little gel or anti-frizz spray can help you control the curls to some degree. Pulling it back real tight while it is damp, then ponytailing it, gives the effect of your hair being straight at the scalp and curly in the length. If you have the time, share with me what your plans are for length and cut, and I can make some suggestions there also. It is important to get regular trims to keep your hair from tangling so much. Good luck! John R.> I need some hair styles for my coarse long> thick curly hair..any suggestions..
Hi Susan,The featured book of the week...388 Hairstyles...has this awesome style for just your hair type. It is on page 95 and the hairstyle actually has a very cool looking soft veil of curls that hang on the sides and near the front. The rest of the hair is pulled back on the sides and formed into one very thick single braid in the back with lots of little tendrils around the braid. It is stunning. The "tail" of the braid is fairly long and left to curl. The bangs and hair at the temple really does looks like a veil. That style along makes me wish I had curly hair (mine is wavy). Also on the same page is a long curly style where the hair is teased well at the forehead and held in place with two large comb. The back remains loose and curly. Looks great too. There are actually 20 different style on pages 93-95 for long curly hair. If you get a chance to see this great book, check out that section.Best wishesKaren> I need some hair styles for my coarse long> thick curly hair..any suggestions..
That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)
