I have naturally curly blonde hair. I wore it long (to aobut mid back) until I went to college, when I cut it short above my shoulders. I have kept it that way for three or four years now, just because it was so much easier to work with. Now, however, I want to grow it out long again. After my trim yesterday, it reaches to about two inches below my shoulders. The problem is, I don't know how to get any body at the crown. I don't have much of a problem with frizzies, but the bottom part of my hair will get all fluffy while the hair on the top of my head goes flat 20 minutes after I style it, so I look like a triangle. Hairspray and teasing don't hold (although maybe I'm doing it wrong), and back-brushing with a hairdryer straightens part of it and frizzes the curly part. Nothing seems to work!I get so exasperated with it that I usually put it back in a barrette, but I would really like to find a way to wear it down. My hairstylist yesterday told me about a video that she had seen that came with Biolage's "defining elixir", telling about ways to get more volume for naturally curly hair. Does anyone know about this video or how I can get a copy of it? Or do you have any other suggestions? Please share your thoughts and experience with me!

I HAVE found a styling fix for this, although it makes your hair kinda goopy and not quite so nice to touch. But it absolutely gives you body at the roots.Once again... it's an aveda product, called "self control". It's a very thick pomade sort of product that comes in a container that looks like deoderant. It's thick and has some substance in your hair, so it's heavy enough to actually hold some body at the roots of your hair instead of being pulled flat by the weight of the rest of your hair. The deoderant container is actually really helpful because it allows you to get the goop down near your scalp without weighting down the rest of your hair. I usually use it on damp hair... loosely section my hair, apply the self control just to the hair at the scalp, then turn my head upside down to fluff it and then just finger style it.I don't do it much anymore except for special occasions though... my hair's now heavy enough not to do the frizzy bit at the ends.-jennifer

sometimes i have that problem too. the solution i used is to: when it's wet use some mousse, then blow-dry it with a big round brush. the mousse gives it alot of volume and you don't even know it's there when it is dry.> I have naturally curly blonde hair. Hi Jennifer,Hi Jennifer,You are right...it does look just like deoderant. :-)I have tried the stick on my bangs to give them texture and it makes my bangs look a lot like Sharon Stone's current short hair look...except just in my bangs. I actually like the way it gives me new options on how to wear my bangs.I have heard it worked great on curly hair too. Glad to hear how it helps with your hair. Thanks for the info.Karen> When my hair was a bit longer than ear length> it did the triangle thing too (I referred to it> as my Gilda Radner hair!). Robin,I am very interested in the Biolage video you mentioned. If you get your hands on one or find out more, please let us know. I am going to see if I can find it here in Dallas.Karen> I have naturally curly blonde hair. I wore> it long (to aobut mid back) until I went to college,> when I cut it short above my shoulders.
