First let me say what a wonderful board this is. I think it has some of the best people posting on hair on the entire Internet.Second, has anyone heard that accupuncture treatments help hair grow faster? A friend swears this works and gets treatments with needles in her scalp. I am a little leery plus I hate pain.Does anyone know if this works?Phyllis
Wow, how fast does her hair grow?I haven't heard that accupuncture works for hair growth, but if her hair is growing more than 1/2" to 1" per month than maybe it does work. I'm assuming that what it does is increase circulation to the scalp which you could do with daily scalp massages. Also accupuncture does not hurt, however if you are leary of needles than this probably isn't for you.

The point (no pun intended) of accupuncture is increase energy flow through the body. If the scalp is blocked then hair would not grow at its optimal level. As far as pain goes, Karen & I get accupuncture on a weekly basis and I can assure you that the pain is not significant.Usually you feel a slight sting for a couple of seconds and then nothing. If the sting continues then this means that the point is really blocked and the energy is starting to flow through this point. I've had needle stuck all over my body. I've never had one in my head sting.Hope that helps.Jeff.> Phyllis
