Well, I got my sample kit in the mail - read it thoroughly and tried it.My results weren't what I was hoping for....sigh.I washed with the shampoo, used the deep treatment, covered my hair with a plastic cap, wrapped my head in a wet towel I warmed up in the microwave......and I periodically reheated the towel. I kept this on for 2 hours. Then rinsed after using the balancing rinse with it in the shower....used botanical boost, trexx fx. and waited while my hair air dried. It didn't look bad...........but it didn't look better. In fact the more damaged part of my hair looked even drier! Maybe I got the towel too warm. I am expecting the full size kit - so I will try again. Maybe I'll leave it on all night as I sleep.Everyone has had such high remarks for Ouidad - and I am not trashing it at all...........I just didn't get the magical results in one use everyone else has seemed to.......but I am not giving up! Good thing she has a money back guarantee - ouch!Any thoughts you all?thanks, Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,Well I think Lori did not have wonderful results the first time either. However, I will tell you that everyone's hair is different and what works great on one person does not work great on others. I know several people who have tried Aveda and it did nothing special for them. Then there are people like me that try Aveda and it turns their hair into works of art (well sort of) Cher and Noreen and I and Jeff and several other can tell you lots of Aveda success stories. Then Victor and others can tell you the opposite. As far as Ouidad, try it one more time and if it does not work, please send it back with a note about what happened. I know that Ouidad would be upset if she thought someone had a bad experience with her products and could not give their money back.I have been asked to "try" several different hair care products and I always warn the people who offer them to me that I will tell the truth about the product from my hair. Now that is why we are trying to get so many different people to try the same products, because it doesn't always work.Ouidad is very nice. I think if you sent her email and asked about your results she could possibly suggest something else to try. Or maybe her product is just not compatible with your hair.I would love to have you write up your notes about using the product and let us know what you think. We want to show the entire experience here on the Boutique. Good and bad.I am going to try the Ouidad on my hair when I get finished testing ARTec and Hairiobics. I am not sure it will work on all hair or even all curly hair. Thanks for sharing this. We need to hear about everyone's experiences. Not just the good ones.I am sorry to hear that your experiences were disappointing.Sometimes it takes awhile and then sometimes it just doesn't ever work.Keep us posted. Thanks,Karen> Well, I got my sample kit in the mail - read> it thoroughly and tried it.> My results weren't what I was hoping for....sigh.>> I washed with the shampoo, used the deep> treatment, covered my hair with a plastic cap,> wrapped my head in a wet towel I warmed up in> the microwave......and I periodically reheated> the towel. I tried the Sample kit from Ouidad too. I had been wanting to try her products for the longest time! I'm glad I only got sample sizes. I'm probably the only curly-haired person whose hair it made frizzier! I followed the directions implicitly, something in her line my hair just doesn't like. (My length is 25") About the same time I had received the kit, I received my order from WWWBeautystore of Aveda products. They made my hair feel so great! No tangles!! I gave the Ouidad two days of usage before I gave up. It made my hair get very tangled and frizzy.Guess that's my $.02 JM

Good thing she has a money back guarantee> - ouch!> Any thoughts you all?> thanks, SuzanneSuzanne, When I first tried Ouidad I didn't like it all that much either. I think part of the problem was I really love Aveda, not only the way it makes my hair feel, but for its philosophy of working with nature, not against it. The point is I did not WANT to like it. I, too, was rather disappointed with my first deep treatment and only used the shampoo and rinse sporadically- mostly to use it up. However, when Karen had suggested doing a review, I thought I could just start over and do it like she does-objectively, and I wanted to do it right. That was when I had the great results. I also use Aveda's Shampure and the Bixa color conditioner. I use these about twice a week to put a bit of red back into my hair. It makes my hair feel soft and smell fresh, but my hair seems more frizzy and even though the curl is there (it's always there!), it's not as defined no matter what styling product I use. With Ouidad, the curl is so defined, I can put my hair up in a butterfly clip for hours and still have lots of curl afterwards. Try again in about two weeks and see how it goes for you then. Let us know what happens! Good Luck!Lori
