> Does anyone know of a shampoo that does NOT> contain ANY of the following ingrediants: 1)sodium> laureth sulfate, 2)sodium lauryl sulfate, 3) ammonium> laureth sulfate, and 4) ammonium lauryl sulfate???>Greetings - Michelle! When analyzing product ingredients you need to look at the combination of the ingredients involved. For instance, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, by itself, I would not used to shampoo my dog. Yet, if i saw this same ingredient in a shampoo that had Aloe Vera, Awapuhi or Cone Flower extract as the main ingredient i would not have a problem using the product on myself? Why? Because many ingredients are buffers and without a stronger sulfate you would sacrifice the benefits of, say Aloe Vera, to limp hair. So their are many trade-offs. Many Aveda Products contain stronger sulfates, but if they did not the essential oils that are so beneficial to your hair would cause your hair to be lifeless. Here are some generalities on Sulfates by themselves, keep in mind you must consider the entire ingredient list on the label. Here is a guide to how gentle your shampoo is according to the surfactant used:Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate - very, very, harshAmmonium Laureth Sulfate- very harsh but better than the aboveSodium Lauryl Sulfate- better than the above, but still a little harshSodium Laureth Sulfate-gentle, great pick!TEA lauryl Sulfate-good pickTEA Laureth Sulfate-good pickhth- ~Mickhael

Their shampoos are all castille soap based. I haven't been really happy with the way they leave my hair, but if you have a sensitivity they're probably the best way to go.I've also been using a Clary Sage shampoo by a company called Botanics of California (I think) that's castille soap based and I like it a LOT better than Aubrey Organics. It leaves my hair really soft and silky with no synthetic detergents. Only problem is that I found it at a health food store in a town 2 hours away that I happened to be visiting, and I can't find it near me. So unless you live in Santa Barbara, CA (or Ukiah where it's made) I'm not sure how easy it would be to find!-jennifer j
