I have crochet braides, and I would like to know if it is ok to perm the new growth after taking the braids out?

Hi,I would say that it would be OK to perm after taking the braids out BUT I would recommend that you do at least 1 week of heavy conditioning before you do the perm to give your hair a chance to recover a little bit.Just my opinion.
