I was wondering, instead of using Jojoba oil, Olive Oil, or anything like that, can you get results that are pretty good using baby oil or Vegetable Oil??Its a wierd question, but I'm just curious.
Hi Dee/Kacee!I would not suggest using baby oil on the hair. It is made of mineral oil with fragrance. Mineral oil is tough to get out of the hair. More so than plant-based oils.Vegetable oil would probably be safe to use. As to how conditioning it is compared to jojoba, sesame or olive oil, I am not sure. You could do a strand test to check for conditioning level and rinsability just to make sure.If you do, please let me know how it worked. I'm curious now too!Valentine :o)Related Link:House of Valentine

I've found that jojoba oil works better than olive oil on my hair, but I haven't tried plain vegetable oil.I would strongly recommend against baby oil, though - it's just mineral oil, basically. Mineral oil is very different chemically from plant oils. It's really not good for your skin, and I would never use it on myself, let alone on a baby! It doesn't let the skin breathe, and can be difficult to remove from hair.Laura Janelswanson@sunflower.bio.indiana.edu
