Okay, how much hair does the average person shed a day?? Normally when I get out of the shower and I comb it out there are lots of hairs that come loose, and throughout the course of the day I find them all over my clothes. =( This really is starting to worry me.

How can someone tell the difference between normal, daily shedding and a true, serious hair loss problem.

Another question: What is *THE* best black hair dye you can get?? Something that won`t fade much if at all.

Thank you!

I read some where online that the avg person losses between 40-100 hairs a day. Don`t know about the hair dye though. I use Hydrience (sp) but Its starting to fade near the bottom of my hair.

The number of hairs lost each day vary but it ranges from 50-100. During seasonal changes, many people tend to shed more hair as the body`s metabolism changes with the changing temperatures. Abnormal hair loss can involve many factors including heredity of baldness patterns, chemical imbalances from drug therapy, metabolic disorders, hormonal or psychological imbalances, or physiological problems with the scalp and hair shaft. A physician will be able to help you determine if your hair loss is normal or due to a problem. All hair dyes fade with time. Asking which hair dye is the best will result in a number of answers depending on the person`s experience. I have had excellent results with Garnier Nutrisse.

I have colored my hair constantly for about 10 years, every color under the sun. The best results with the least fading have been done in the salon, using the Redken or ARTec colors. More expensive, but worth it.
