First and foremost, do not dye and relax your hair, it will only fall out - the chemicals do not mix. See my message below about conditioners. If it doesn't help, e-mail me directly.MelanieI've always had long beautiful natural culy hair. Ohhhhhh your poor hair! Well I have a few suggestions that I hope will help. First of try the Aveda Pure-Fume Brilliant Line. Their products were designed especially for hair like yours.. moisture deprived and textured. The shampoo and conditioner are amazing and I'll bet after the very first wash.. your hair will look better than ever. Now using a cleansing and conditioning routine that will add moisture is just one part.. now you've gotta repair big time. I suggest you use a reconstructive treatment like three times a week till your hair looks and feels stronger then maybe lay off to once a week. It is also probably a good idea to use a leave in conditioner. Don't forget to be extra careful when brushing, styling, or combing and I wish you the best of luck.ThanksKeth'ryn

Well.... it does depend on all the other products you are using because you want to try to get a good balance... but a good one is KMS Strategy. The smell is a bit funny but well worth the results. Also don't forget to use a leave in whenever you need to. (Sebastian, Aveda, and Redken make good ones)]ThanksKeth'ryn

Please help.. thanxs Billiewow- my story is almost exactly like this one. i had naturally curly hair that i always fought with. i used to relax my hair all the time in college with no adverse results but i did it again this summer and so much of my hair broke off, and continues to now...4 months later! i have 2 questions - re: not dying and relaxing hair, what if it is a semi-permanant dye? then is it ok? second, how much LONGER do i have to wait until my hair is strong again?i use 2 good product lines that has really revitalized my hair: one is called paul brown and one is called keracare. they are both salon brands i think but they have really made my hair soft and stronger. i try not to wash my hair every day anymore, also.
