Someone on this site once mentioned that Head and Sholders is bad for your hair. Can anyone recomend a dandruff shampoo that is not damaging or drying but also works? Also, there's this ointment sold in the drugstore that claims to eliminate dandruff. Would this be better or would it also damage the hair?
I've used Pantene's new dandruff shampoo with good results. Used a couple times a week, it has kept itching and flaking down, and left my hair manageagble and soft. Despite Pantene's reputation among serious hair buffs, it hasn't wrecked my hair--yet! ;)I know Louise Marie Longhairs has some dandruff preparations, but I have yet to try them.

It's very gentle. It also smells nice - minty, but not overpowering.I can't say for sure about the ointment, but I suspect it would be gentler than Head and Shoulders, if only because it's applied directly to the scalp, so it doesn't affect most of the hair.Good luck!Laura Janelswanson@sunflower.bio.indiana.edu
