QuoteReplyTopic: OBSESSED WITH A STYLE!!! Posted: January 12 2000 at 3:07am
Okay, for the last few weeks I've been obsessing over getting this certain hairstyle. I have never had my haircut before so I'm afraid of telling my stylist what I want and ending up with something totally different. I want my hair just like Debra Messing's of Will & Grace,(Grace). Does anyone out there know what I'm talking about? I've searched the net looking through all the hairstyle sights, not finding anything. I've searched her name, still not finding a picture. Could someone please tell me what to tell my stylist to do to achieve this look? My hair is about waist length and culy, so I wont need a perm, just instructions to give to the stylist for the proper cut. If anyone knows the style I'm talking about, please respond to this!!! (my last hope)Thanks :)
Mia,You haven't been looking hard enough. :) Click on the link below to get her NBC publicity shot. I have a few more if you'd like them, but this is one of the best pics of her out there. The style is cut to about shoulder length (though obviously longer when wet to allow for the spring of the curl) with long layers throughout. She has more layers than, say, Julianna Marguilles, whose hair appears to be more one length, though it has long layers. Debras has enough layers that it is a very full style, but they are left long enough that she can pull it back and put it up. Hope that helps. As usual,JerkyFleaRelated Link:NBC's picture of Debra Messing
3 pm is simultaneously too late and too early to start anything.
Wow!That is really beautiful hair!If I had curly hair, I'd want it just like that.Mia, I can see why you want your hair like that :)Just thought I'd put in my thoughts.

(my last hope) To Mia, Concerning New Style: The style shown in Jerky Flea's response is a very becoming, but, be sure that you can carry off wearing of this style by having a pro consultation, concerning your face shape, body shape and weight. Always include your hairs texture, and other important considerations, when making a change. Your OVERALL IMAGE should always be taken into account, not just from the "neck up". Also, when making such a big change to just below shoulder length from waist length, you might want to take it a litle bit at a time, maybe 2-4 inches per cut to be sure that you are going in the right direction, this will give you time to evaluate each cutting and be sure that it is what you really want. A good cut that works well on long curly hair is a rounded shape at the bottom "corners only about a 2inch radius on each side and slightly long layers, lightly please, will ease you into a new look with a little less risk and stress. william> Thanks :)
